carved from wood and brass, the shuttle is an everyday object for the weaving community in pochampalli, a weavers village in telangana, india. it is designed only specifically for the handloom making it a unique object of design that embodies the story of the weavers village in bhoodan pochampally - a town born out of the 1951 land gift (bhoodan) movement in post-colonial india.
